Members and Visitors who are regular golfers are well aware of the dangers that can exist on a golf course and in the associated buildings and grounds. Those who are bringing guests who are less experienced golfers should guide them around the course to ensure that they are aware of any potential hazards.

Please take appropriate care to avoid tripping hazards, slippery surfaces in winter and during wet weather at other times of the year.

The Etiquette page of this section gives more detailed guidance. However, please pay particular attention to the advice about shouting ‘Fore’. Be aware of what is going on around you and ensure that you act accordingly.

Also please record all incidents of 'near misses' or actual incidents whereby fellow golfers or greens staff or pedestrians are hit or nearly hit by a golf ball (or club). No names need to be mentioned as this is to aid health and safety planning and not to apportion blame. The person striking the ball can enter a record as can those who may have been on the receiving end of the shot! The record books are next to the handicap record in the gents locker room and next to the files in the ladies locker room.

A small amount of attention to the above issues will ensure that you enjoy your visit and golf to the maximum
