Doncaster Golf Club celebrated its Centenary in 1994. Golf was first played on the current site in 1909, with the course being extended to the full 18 holes in 1914.

For those of you who are interested in the development of the course, you can see below a report prepared by Dr A Mackenzie in 1913 which outlines the plan for the original course. As many will know, Dr MacKenzie gave his name to the "MacKenzie" greens that are such a feature of well known courses such as Augusta.

The course underwent major redevelopment in the 1970's due to the construction of the M18 motorway. This resulted in the loss of some of the original holes and construction of new holes. These new holes are now very mature and are an excellent addition to the overall course layout. The course plan drawn up by the Golf Course Architects, Hawtree & Son, can be seen below and goes some way to showing how the changes were integrated into the overall layout.
